Iveta Sedlakova is a Czech-born, London-based multidisciplinary, neurodivergent artist, video editor, visual storyteller and self-trained dancer who graduated with a BA (Hons) in Documentary Photography and Moving Image at the London College of Communication in 2023. Since graduating, she has continued to develop a sustained practice in visual art, creative contemporary dance and improvisation, yoga, Pilates and meditation. She creates multi-media projects that involve dramaturgy, choreography, archival material, Jungian and Adlerian theory, film, photographic stills and poetic texts as well as vocal narrations. Her experiential practice is informed by the phenomenology of trauma within diverse personal and collective lived experiences. Her materials explore the edges of spirituality and socio-political landscapes, emphasising mental health, deep social engagement and decolonialisation analysed through a psychoanalytical lens. She delves into questions around social connection, addiction, and (multigenerational) trauma in the context of global capitalism and patriarchy. Her creative endeavours encompass poetic, experimental, and dreamlike aesthetics, guided by intuitive thinking, editing, and a hand-held camera. She incorporates ethereal light play, natural elements and textures into her work as an invitation for moral imagination.
